Last year was a game-changer for the AI industry, both in the U.S. and globally. According to TechCrunch, 49 AI startups secured funding rounds of $100 million or more in 2024. Some companies even raised multiple “mega-rounds,” with seven reaching the billion-dollar mark.
How does 2025 compare? While the year is still unfolding, nearly a dozen U.S. AI startups have already surpassed the $100 million threshold—and one has even closed a round exceeding $1 billion.

March (U.S. AI Startups)
- Anthropic, a leader in AI research and large language models, raised a staggering $3.5 billion Series E, valuing the company at $61.5 billion. The March 3 round was led by Lightspeed, with backing from Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and General Catalyst.
February (U.S. AI Startups)
- Together AI, an open-source generative AI and model development company, secured a $305 million Series B on February 20, valuing the company at $3.3 billion. The round was co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst, with participation from Nvidia, Salesforce Ventures, and others.
- Lambda, an AI infrastructure startup, closed a $480 million Series D on February 19, with a valuation nearing $2.5 billion. SGW and Andra Capital co-led the round, with Nvidia, ARK Invest, and G Squared also investing.
- Abridge, a Pittsburgh-based AI platform for transcribing medical conversations, raised $250 million in a Series D on February 17, valuing it at $2.75 billion. IVP and Elad Gil co-led the round, alongside Lightspeed, Redpoint, and Spark Capital.
- Eudia, an AI-driven legal tech startup, closed a $105 million Series A on February 13. General Catalyst led the round, with contributions from Floodgate, Defy Ventures, and Everywhere Ventures.
- EnCharge AI, an AI hardware startup, raised $100 million in a Series B on February 13. Tiger Global led the round, with backing from Scout Ventures, Samsung Ventures, and RTX Ventures.
- Harvey, another AI legal tech startup, secured a $300 million Series D on February 12, reaching a $3 billion valuation. Sequoia led the round, with participation from OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, and Elad Gil.

- ElevenLabs, a synthetic voice technology company, closed a $180 million Series C on January 30, pushing its valuation past $3 billion. The round was co-led by ICONIQ Growth and Andreessen Horowitz, with Sequoia, NEA, and Salesforce Ventures also investing.
